Facial & Body Crème
We formulated our new crème to hydrate and support barrier function, helping get our skin through these dry and dark winter days. It is rich, decadent and intensely moisturizing, leaving the skin soft and glowing.
The star ingredient in these crèmes is Calendula.
Calendula works by soothing irritation and inflammation, supporting the skin barrier, and offers antioxidant protection. Calendula is also excellent for eczema and sensitive skin. All in all, Calendula is great for all things skin related.
They come in 2 scents (Orange ~ Rosemary and Lavender) and one unscented version. (Let us know if you would like another scent!)
What makes this different from our balms and oils? Our balms and oils are anhydrous products meaning they don’t contain water. Waterless products make for great emollients, meaning that they act as a shield against harsh climates. However, if your skin is already severely dry and cracked, it may not work as well as you want. As we know, true hydration comes from water, but you need humectants to prevent evaporation. Humectants work by attracting and binding the water molecules into your skin's upper layer, which keeps it soft and supple. Humectants don't create water but rather capture it, reducing transepidermal water loss.
Crème is a combination of moisture (water), humectants (Glycerin) and emollients (Oils/Lipids). Many store bought lotions may help your skin appear softer but it can cause adverse reactions. Most lotions contain ingredients like parabens (methylparaben, propylparaben, etc.), synthetic fragrances, BHA, BHT, Quaternium 15 and Phthalates (Dibutyl and diethylhexyl) which are known irritants, endocrine disrupters, carcinogenic and/or releases formaldehyde.
